FAPA x HKNPS

Photography, is the art of time, which can record a moment, objects and details in the real world. If there is truth to the idea that "a picture is worth a thousand words", then visual/photo literacy is now just as important as the written word. No other art form has this feeling of reality and brings the past alive. Every photograph is captured a moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce.

Photography is something which cannot be taken lightly. It teaches us a lot and tells us about the personalities of people and the things that are going on in the world. Nowadays, photography has become very common as everyone has easy access to high quality cameras through their smartphones. Different people have worked hard for the promotion of photography and have written many books on the subject, however the demands of modern times are different.

The works are mostly post-1990s, often focusing on realism and surrealism depicting rural life, religious Buddhist scenes or mythological motifs from the Ramayana, though a few more political and controversial pieces have made their way into the collection, too.

FART BASEL 2017, the influence of Art fairs

Art fairs are getting shorter. Once, the norm was at least four days of public opening but this year, as for a couple of editions past, Art Basel Hong Kong weighs in at just three public days (March 23-35) — following, of course, a run-up of VIP openings and viewings. Most of the other important contemporary fairs around the world have also abandoned longer stretches.
